About Jumani Surf School
We are passionate about surfing and about teaching our passion to other people. Priorities of our school are high qualitiy teaching, safe surfing and happy surf students. The school is located in Dewata at the Dewata Beach which is close to Galle Fort and Unawatuna ( a five to ten minutes tuk tuk drive ). Dewata Beach is a beautiful bay which combines paradise feeling and real life - palm trees and blue water are meeting local fisher boates and ruins - due to the nature catastrophe in 2004 when a Tsunami destroyed the coastline in this area of Sri Lanka, which has since then been rebuilt with a lot of love by the locals.
Dewata Beach is getting more and more popular and can get crowded. Jumani Surf School is located within five minutes walking distance to the other surf schools at the left hand of beach which gives it a private and cosy vibe and enough space in the water for our surflessons. Furthermore the sunsets you can see from this place are absolutly stunning (facing the whole bay ranging from famous Jungle Beach and the beautiful Closenburg Hotel & Viewpoint).

MANI is the owner of the surfschool. He is an ISA/ILS (International Surf Association/ https://www.isasurf.org/development-programs/coaching-instructing/certified-instructors-directory/ ) certified surf instructor and life guard with a lot of experience in giving surf lessons for years. With opening his own surfschool in December 2019 he fullfilled one of his dreams. He always has a smile on his face and likes to put a smile on the faces of the people around him.

FASIL loves the ocean as much as Mani does. Furthermore he was a big help in setting up the surfschool/Smoothiebar and last but not least he is making delicious roties, wraps and pancakes. Come around and try them :)
